See how 21-year-old father shot and killed on his doorstep in London

A 21-year-old father was gunned down on his doorstep in a London street late last night.

The man, who has not been named by police, was shot on Tennyson Street, in Battersea at around 11:30pm last night. Police have cordoned off much of the road, and forensic investigators arrived at the scene at around 9:30 this morning.

Residents of the street said they heard one gun shot go off late last night before police arrived. A pool of dried blood can still be seen on the door step of a house down the road this morning.
Neighbours said the man who lived at the house had not lived there very long but believed he had a girl aged around 18-months-old.....More...

They described the man who lived at the address and is believed to be the victim as a light-skinned black male, who was a keen cyclist and bodybuilder.

One neighbour, Banker Alex Ultahan, 24, said: " I heard a bang and it sounded like a gun shot. You just don't expect it in a nice street like this, we're all in shock."
Another man who lives down the street, who asked not to be named, said: "I was watching a movie, so I had the television on pretty loud. But I heard a bang, something that sounded like a car back firing.

"But then a while later I saw the police lights going down the street, and I thought s**t, it must have been a gun shot.

"It is worrying, and I didn't want to get involved so I stayed inside and let the police do their job. So, I didn't see anything until this morning when the police cordon was up."

A resident of the street, Nick Wilson, 49, said: " I didn't hear anything myself, which is strange because I normally hear everything around here.

"I only realised when my neighbour down stairs from me went outside, and I looked outside and saw the police tape and everything. I've seen the door step this morning and there is a pool of blood on it, it's a lot of blood.

"If it's the guy who lives at that house - I'm not sure what his name is - but he's a light skinned black bloke, and he was a nice enough fella. He never seemed to have any problems, or be in trouble, nothing like that.

"He was always on his bike and he was quite a stocky geezer. He hasn't lived here long though, I think probably five or six months."
He said that the street has had problems in the past. He said: " One of my neighbours, he was stabbed in an alleyway yesterday. And we have had stabbings before in the past, it can get a bit lairy around here.

"At the end of the street, we sometimes have young lads going around on mopeds as well."

Another male resident, who asked not to be named, said: " I was not home last night but if it was the person who lived at the house, I'm pretty sure he had a kid.

"I'm not sure what his name is though. But I spoke to him a few times, just to say hello, and small talk, and he seemed like a nice enough guy. I think he said his kid his one-and-a-half from what I remember. But I'm not sure if it was a boy or a girl."

Another elderly resident of the street, called Edward Keane, said: "He was a big lad and a real bodybuilder. He had only lived here for a short time and he had a small daughter."
