Lagos State Declares Friday Public Holiday Due To Voters Card
The governor made the announcement in a special state-wide broadcast to residents on the commencement of the issuance of PVCs by INEC in the state, held at the State House, Marina, Lagos.
Dr. Adekunle Ogunmola, the Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC in Lagos state, had on 29 October announced that residents in Lagos would be expected to start collection of their permanent voters’ cards from 7-9 November, 2014. And Friday is a working day out of the three days earmarked for collection by INEC.

He has held that position for the fourth successive year.
The influential Forbes Magazine rates Dangote on the list of 25 richest people in the world.

EFCC recovers $11billion stolen funds in 11 years
Since the existence of EFCC starting from 2003, a total of 11 billion dollars has been recovered.
The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren yesterday. He also said that the commission handled many cases involving advanced fee fraud (419), money laundering, contract scam, internet fraud and has recorded over 100 convictions.
The EFCC Spokesman made the comment while speaking at the Forum of Spokespersons of Security and Response Agencies organised by the I-Nigeria Initiative led by Mrs. Ada Apiaffi, in Abuja yesterday, November 5th.

Nigeria to loan $945 To Improve Irrigation
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved three foreign loans in the sum of $945 million to improve irrigation system, prevent flooding in Ibadan, Oyo State and provide water for Bauchi, Ekiti and Rivers States.
The council meeting which was presided over by Vice President Namadi Sambo also approved four road projects totaling N22 billion.
Briefing State House Correspondents after the meeting, the Minister of Water Resources Mrs Sarah Ochekpe who was joined by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Akinwunmi Adesina and the Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yiguda, said the International Development Association’s credit of $495 million is for the management of irrigation systems in the country.

Four houses burnt, 2 kidnapped in Afam Uku Oyigbo area of PH
Four houses were ablaze yesterday, when youths from a neighbouring community allegedly invaded Afam Uku Oyigbo area of Port Harcourt and allegedly abducted two persons.
Caretaker committee chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area, Mr. David Oyegorom, who confirmed the incident, claimed the invaders stormed the community in his local government in the early hours of yesterday, noting that the timely arrival of security men saved the situation from degenerating into major violence.

President Goodluck Jonathan will travel to Ouagadougou tomorrow as a member of the three-man delegation of Heads of State and Government raised by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to facilitate the rapid resolution of the current political crisis in Burkina Faso.
Other members of the delegation of ECOWAS leaders are President Macky Sall of Senegal and President John Mahama of Ghana who is the current Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.

Boko Haram has taken over a cement company in Gombe

Islamist militants group Boko Haram has taken over a cement manufacturing company in Gombe state shortly after killing five people including a Sheikh in a neighboring town. 19 year old wanted by UK for attempted murder
Police have released a picture of 19-year-old Obitana Onyia - who is wanted in connection with an attempted murder in Deptford on Sunday.
A spokesman for the Met has urged people not to approach the man, but to contact officers in Greenwich if they come across him or know of his whereabouts.

Police man crushes the legs of his wife and stabbed his to death
According to punch, Like a scene from a horror movie, a police corporal, Lucky Ikharia, on October 30, allegedly used a bus to crush the legs of his wife, Dupe. Having left her for dead, Lucky went home where he allegedly stabbed his baby, David, to death, ripping out the toddler’s intestines.
Still in a rage, the policeman turned the knife on himself in an attempt to take his own life. however, Lucky and his wife survived but both were in critical conditions.
