Video Showing Nigerian Army And Civilians Fleeing Boko Haram Attack Yesterday

Captured by a resident of Mubi Junction, Adamawa State fleeing Boko Haram Monday, exclusive video has surfaced showing Nigerian soldiers and civilians fleeing a massive Boko Haram attack in Michika. 

The incident comes after a string of attacks by the deadly sect, who has attempted to establish an Islamic state in northeast Nigeria. The Nigerian army has struggled to contain the increasingly aggressive attacks, the most recent of which occurred yesterday in Mubi, and left 24 dead and many, including former president Obasanjo's son, Lt. Alimodu Sheriff accompanied the president of Nigeria to an anti-terrorism meeting

About a week after he was accused of being a Boko Haram sponsor by Australian hostage negotiator, Stephen Davis, former Borno state governor Alimodu Sheriff accompanied the president of Nigeria to an anti-terrorism meeting in Chad. Statistics show's that 500,000 jobs created in 6 months

The figure was announced by the Statistician-General of the Federation, Dr. Yemi Kale, at a workshop organised by the NBS for the review of definition and methodology for computing unemployment statistics in Nigeria.

He said the new figure was arrived at through a recent job creation survey carried out by the NBS for the first and second quarters of 2014.

Nigerian Medical Association (NMA): schools to remain closed until early next year

The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, has rejected the Monday September 22nd resumption directive given by FG to all Primary and Secondary schools due to the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria.
The NMA speaking through its National Publicity Secretary, Dr Olawunmi Layaki, said they expect all schools to remain closed until December or early next year when all Ebola suspects under surveillance have been cleared and certified free of the virus.

"We are not happy with this decision on the resumption of schools. Schools should be shut till the last suspected case or patient is certified free of the virus. We can shift the resumption date till next year or in the next three months if that is the time it will take....MORE.....

US Air Marshal In ‘quarantine after being attacked yesterda at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport

A US Air Mashal is in quarantine in Houston today after being allegedly attacked yesterday by an unknown assailant at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, wielding a syringe.

U.S. law enforcement officials told ABC News they were alarmed by the bizarre, unprovoked attack because the assailant was apparently able to inject an unknown substance into the back of one of the air marshal’s arms. The air marshal was traveling with a team of other marshals when the attack took place in an unsecured area of the airport terminal in Lagos, the officials said. He was able to board the United Airlines flight to Houston he was scheduled to work and was met early this morning in Houston by FBI agents and health workers from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)......MORE....

Since she got involved with Tosin Yusuf and had a baby with him, singer Omawumi has never shared a pic of him on social media. LAWMA official crushed by Hit & Run driver

A hit-and-run driver of a jeep knocked down two highway managers of the Lagos State Waste Management Agency on Monday along Iyana Oworo Expressway in the state.

Punch learnt that although the driver managed to escape, the vehicle’s number plate fell in the process and had been handed over to security officials.It was gathered that the driver, who was on top speed, wanted to beat the traffic snarl when he rammed into the victims, identified as Lateefat Sulyman and Fatimoh Ajetunmobi.

Sulyman (popularly called Iya Tawa) was crushed to death while Ajetunmobi was said to have been rushed to a hospital.

Boko Haram has taken over part of the state - Ahmed Jidda

The Secretary to the Borno state government, Amb. Ahmed Jidda says Boko Haram men have taken over a considerable part of the state. Speaking to newsmen yesterday September 7th in Borno state, the SSG said activities of the sect members have paralyzed most economy, social, political and government activities in the state.

"At this very moment, most parts of Borno state are being occupied by Boko Haram insurgents. Government presence and administration is minimal or non-existent across many parts of the state, with economic, commercial and social services totally subdued. Schools and clinics remain closed. Most settlements in the affected areas in the state have either been deserted or access to them practically impossible, thus majority of the political stakeholders cannot, in real fact, reach their constituencies. Boko Haramkilled after Nigerian military raid hideout

Over 50 men of the insurgency group, Boko Haram, were yesterday September 7th killed after Nigerian troops raided the sect members hideout in Kwauri, Borno state. This is according to a statement by the Nigerian military.

Items recovered from them includes Fabricated Artillery gun, Two Anti-aircraft gun, an armored vehicle and assorted types of ammunition. Food items, hardware, personal clothing were destroyed during the gun battle. One officer and two soldiers were seriously injured.

The remains of the brother who killed them on Thursday follow behind in a second car, the Irish Mirror reported.
Tormented sibling Jonathan, 21, was on police bail for possessing a knife when he stabbed the schoolboys.
He hanged himself by a riverbank an hour after the carnage.

13-year-old boystabbed teacher and girl at school

Dozens of police, dog handlers and a force helicopter are hunting for a 13-year-old boy suspected of stabbing a teenage girl and a male teacher at school.
A 13-year-old girl and a teacher were attacked with a 'long bladed knife' at The Chase Technology College in Malvern, Worcs. at 8.45am today.
Police and emergency services rushed to the scene and the two victims were treated for minor injuries.
Officers launched a huge manhunt for the 13-year-old boy suspect who is believed to be a student in Year 9 at the school.

Arab League agrees to combat Islamic State group

The Arab League says its member states have agreed to combat, either individually or collectively, the Islamic State group and other militants in the region.

The resolution, issued Monday after late-night meetings a day earlier, doesn't explicitly back American military action against the group. U.S. President Barack Obama is seeking an international coalition to challenge the Islamic State group and is expected to outline his plan Wednesday.
