Dog that was Defiled by 19 Years old boy has been killed in Edo

The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 19-year-old boy in Iguosa community, Ovia North East Local Government Area, for allegedly having sex with a dog.

The young man, identified simply as Osagiator, was said to have taken the dog to an uncompleted building where he had sex with it.‎
A resident in the community, George Ogbonmwan, while narrating how the teenager was caught, said he had saw the suspect with the dog and had thought that he wanted to steal it.
He added that he decided to call the attention of the owner, Garuba Samari.‎

Ebola patients: Nigeria Gov approves the use of experimental drug, Zmapp

The National Health Research Ethics Committee, Nigeria, has approved the use of an experimental Ebola drug, Zmapp, for treatment of patients infected with the virus. The committee, which composed research scientists, is a national body under the Federal Ministry of Health.

The endorsement is contained in a statement issued to newsmen by Prof. Clement Adebamowo, Chairman of the committee on Wednesday in Abuja. Continue...

Ebola: Canada to rescue West Africa with the experimental vaccine..

The Canadian Public Health Agency has offered to release 1000 dose of a made-in-Canada experimental Ebola virus vaccine known as VSV-EBOV which has never been tested on humans but has shown to be effective in the treatment of the disease in animals.

In a statement released yesterday August 12th, the Canadian Health Minister Rona Ambrose said the World Health Organization's Director general, Margaret Chan, has approved of the donation.

A medical doctor has described how a nursing mother who is one of the confirmed cases of the Ebola virus in Lagos contracted the disease while attending her antenatal care at First Consultant Hospital in Obalende, Lagos where the first victim of Ebola virus in Nigeria, Patrick Sawyerr, died. The lady was confirmed to have the deadly disease after testing positive at the NNPC staff clinic on Muri Okunola street in the Victoria Island area of Lagos.

Isolation Center: Abuja designates General Hospital in Kuje

Abuja (NAN) – The FCT Minister, Sen. Bala Mohammed, has designated the General Hospital, Kuje, in Kuje Area Council, as Isolation Centre in case of Ebola-infected persons.

The minister also inaugurated a 25-man committee to work out modalities for responding to the threat of Ebola virus and create awareness on the nature and symptoms of the virus.

Ebola Hits Edo State Man Dies From It

There was pandemonium in Orhionwon local government area of Edo state as a man was aid to have died from symptoms suspected to be those of the deadly Ebola virus.

The incident, which happened in Udo community of the state happened to a middle-aged man who had been ill suddenly died.

Whereas many people in the community said the man was epileptic died as a result of a seizure, there were any others who speculated that his death might have been as a result of the Ebola virus.
