Wow Joseph Yobo show case Ferrari

The Nigerian football player, Joseph Yobo, 34, is a notable defender for Nigeria’s national team, having featured in three world cup tournaments, six African Cup of Nations competitions and many friendly games.

The Norwich City football club star, who was on loan from Fernabache football club in Turkey, last season, was the captain of the Super Eagles at the recently concluded World Cup which held in Brazil. He got married to a former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Adaeze, in 2010.

Last year, the footballer acquired a Ferrari 458 Spider convertible, which is estimated to cost about N45m.

If you are in the market for an exotic street machine that provides faster off-the-line performance, one that can handle corners seamlessly with an incredible performance, the F458 should be on your list.

The Ferrari 458 Spider is an exotic, fast, luxurious and drop-dead gorgeous brand that has style and performance as its hallmarks. It is adjudged to have raised the bar for all exotic cars.

The sports car inspires with its performance that will likely take the breath away from even the most jaded of drivers.

Performance

The 2011 Ferrari 458’s performance is nothing short of breathtaking, powered by a 4.5-litre V8 that sends 562 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels through a seven-speed, dual-clutch automated manual transmission.

Ferrari says it will go from zero to 60 miles per hour in about 3.4 seconds, quicker than virtually everything on the road, except the Bugatti Veyron, which makes it one of the quickest cars in the world. Its estimated fuel economy stands at 12 miles per gallon/city, 18mpg/highway and 14mpg in combined driving.

Features

The Ferrari 458 Spider is a two-seat exotic sports car. Its standard features include 20-inch aluminium alloy wheels, adjustable driving and vehicle settings, automatic xenon headlights, keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, lights, Bluetooth and a sound system, with an auxiliary audio jack.

Other available options include forged alloy wheels, run-flat tyres, carbon-fibre body pieces, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, adaptive headlights, cruise control, auto-dimming mirrors, power seats, a navigation system, an iPod interface, satellite radio and a premium sound system.

Safety

The 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia comes with side airbags, antilock carbon-ceramic brakes, traction and stability control.

Special features

To free up space for the enlarged transmission paddle shifters, Ferrari did away with traditional steering wheel column stalks as it changed the light and wiper controls to buttons on the spokes of the steering wheel. In addition, the stereo, navigation and other infotainment systems are controlled via buttons on knobs that flank both sides of the steering column, which make it a bit difficult for the passenger to control anything.

The design also makes it difficult to see your speed and the navigation system at the same time. You can either know where you’re going or how fast you’re getting there, but not both at the same time.

Driving Impressions

In addition, the sports car comes with brutal acceleration and incredibly precise steering. Though reviewers lament the absence of a traditional manual transmission, the dual-clutch automated manual whips through its seven gears with a quickness and smoothness that perhaps only Porsche can match.

The good: Screaming performance, world-leading handling, brilliant transmission, finely-crafted cabin, superb handling technology, good visibility for a supercar, highly customisable and remarkably fast.

The bad: Reviewers condemn the placement of turn signals and other controls on the steering wheel, navigation screen, which make it impossible to see speed and navigation at the same time. Also, there are no traditional manual transmissions available and there is limited cargo room and passenger space.
