Airbus plane from Spain to Germany crashes in France With 412 onboard

An Airbus plane operated by Lufthansa's Germanwings budget airline carrying 412 passengers and 6 crew crashed in southern France this morning. The airbus A320 was flying from Barcelona, Spain to Duesseldorf, Germany when it disappeared from radar in the Alpes de Hautes Provence after sending a distress signal at 10.47am local time.

Everyone on board is feared dead after debris from the plane was found scattered over a wild area near Barcelonnette hours later. The cause of the crash is not yet known.

32 year old Alena Politukha was dumped by her politician husband for posting saucy photos of herself on her instagram page. The pics went viral in her county, getting her many online followers but alienating her husband, Aleksandr Politukha, who is the head of a local council in Dergachevsky district in eastern Ukraine

Alena herself posted online about the end of her marriage and hit out at her ex, complaining that she and her young son have been left with nothing after he walked out on them. She later found out that he'd filed for divorce.
Someone very close to the husband claimed the man, who also runs a successful business making soap, was unhappy with Alena constantly posting half naked photos on social media. He never complained to her but always complained to friends and threatened to leave if she didn't stop.

13-Year-Old Girl Gets Pregnant After Being Raped by 27-year-old man

The police have arraigned a 27-year-old man, Tope Akintade, for impregnating a primary three pupil, Beatrice (pseudonym), after he allegedly raped her.

Akintade and Beatrice, an orphan, are neighbours at a compound on Baale Street, Agboju, Kuje in the Amuwo area of Lagos State.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the 13-year-old victim was outside washing plates in the afternoon, sometime in November, when Akintade, who hails from the Idanre Local Government Area, Ondo State, lured her to his room and forcefully had sex with her.

Our correspondent gathered that Beatrice’s aunt, who preferred to be anonymous because of the nature of the incident, had earlier warned the suspect to stay away from her niece when she (the minor) complained that he was “playing rough play” with her.

Exchange Rate in Nigeria As At Today

The exchange rate in Nigeria should be a thing of worry? As at today, a pound to naira is now N311 while a dollar to naira is now N204. After a lot of research conducted, it looks like the naira has devalued by more than 25% in the last few years while as at yesterday the naira to a pound was 304. It devalued by 2.5%.

On the other hand, Venezuela's currency only devalued by 9% even though they were more affected by the fall in oil prices because they were able to put economic policies in place to reduce the rate of the devaluation in the same time period and reduce the impact of the reduction in oil prices. Paul Play Files A N200m Lawsuit Against Etisalat

Paul Play Dairo has filed a N200m lawsuit against telecommunications company, Etisalat for using his song, Mosorire in its popular reality series, Nigerian Idol, without seeking his consent. In the suit filed at a Lagos High court and marked FHC/CS/581/2014, Optima Media Group was made co-defendant. Paul stated that the defendants had used his hit song, Mosorire, which he composed himself, to promote their TV show, Nigerian Idol in 2012 and 2013.

He alleged that during the course of the programme, a contestant was made to reproduce his song and sing it without his express permission as the owner of the song.
The court paper in part reads

"I am the copyright owner of the work named and tagged “Mosorire”, contained in my repertoire, exclusively for the jurisdiction of Nigeria and the authority or permission to exploit such work can only be obtained from me. However, the defendants being an organiser of a television reality show tagged, “Nigerian Idol” caused the use, adaptation and deployment of my said work titled, “Mosorire” on the said show without my consent, and which was broadcast to several millions of television viewers throughout the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the rest of Africa for 2012 and 2013 editions.”

Boko Haram releases differ new videos on Youtube, stones adulterer to death, amputates thief

The Boko Haram sect today released three new videos on Youtube (that have since been taken down) showing how a man accused of committing adultery was stoned to death. The sect members also amputated a man's hand for stealing.

In one of the videos which was released in three parts, a man buried in the ground with only his head visible, is seen being stoned to death by a crowd. They accused him of adultery. Another part of the video showed a man's hand being amputated for 'stealing'. Young men were also shown being flogged for committing fornication.

In one of the videos, the sect leader, Abubakar Shekau denied claims by Nigerian military that they repelled the December 1st attack on Damaturu in Yobe state carried out by the terrorist group.

Man Rapes 98-Year-Old Woman In Edo

The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 57-year old man, identified as Anselm Osagie for allegedly raping his 98-year-old landlady.

reports state that the suspect who was alleged to have committed the offence on January 3, 2015, however, denied having carnal knowledge of his landlady.
Osagie, who blamed his co-tenant (name withheld) for his plight said his neighbour raised false alarm after he saw his landlady sitting on his bed while he was lying down.

The suspect, who claimed that the old woman had been coming to his room since October last year, revealed that he was severely beaten for allegedly making love to an old woman before he was handed over to the police.

Couples' in EFCCcustody over N16.9m Scam

(EFCC)has arrested a couple, Mr. Nwabueze Nwabueze and Mrs. Bridget Nwabueze, and one Eze Ngozi for fraud. The EFCC said the trio allegedly defrauded one Austin Emuan of the Gothic-Len Consortium Limited of N16.9m.

The money was said to be the payment for a non-existent contract. The EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said the trio and others at large were part of a syndicate which engaged in fraudulent acts, obtaining by false pretences and impersonation. He said,
“The suspects’ arrest followed a petition from Austin Emuan, who is the Managing Director of Gothic-Len Consortium, alleging that one Miss Joy Ozioma (now at large), Nwabueze and others, sometime in 2011, defrauded him of N16. 9m under the pretext of awarding his company a contract for construction of a cottage hospital in Obagi community by Total Nigeria Limited.
