Boko Haram releases differ new videos on Youtube, stones adulterer to death, amputates thief

The Boko Haram sect today released three new videos on Youtube (that have since been taken down) showing how a man accused of committing adultery was stoned to death. The sect members also amputated a man's hand for stealing.

In one of the videos which was released in three parts, a man buried in the ground with only his head visible, is seen being stoned to death by a crowd. They accused him of adultery. Another part of the video showed a man's hand being amputated for 'stealing'. Young men were also shown being flogged for committing fornication.

In one of the videos, the sect leader, Abubakar Shekau denied claims by Nigerian military that they repelled the December 1st attack on Damaturu in Yobe state carried out by the terrorist group.

Man Rapes 98-Year-Old Woman In Edo

The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 57-year old man, identified as Anselm Osagie for allegedly raping his 98-year-old landlady.

reports state that the suspect who was alleged to have committed the offence on January 3, 2015, however, denied having carnal knowledge of his landlady.
Osagie, who blamed his co-tenant (name withheld) for his plight said his neighbour raised false alarm after he saw his landlady sitting on his bed while he was lying down.

The suspect, who claimed that the old woman had been coming to his room since October last year, revealed that he was severely beaten for allegedly making love to an old woman before he was handed over to the police.

Couples' in EFCCcustody over N16.9m Scam

(EFCC)has arrested a couple, Mr. Nwabueze Nwabueze and Mrs. Bridget Nwabueze, and one Eze Ngozi for fraud. The EFCC said the trio allegedly defrauded one Austin Emuan of the Gothic-Len Consortium Limited of N16.9m.

The money was said to be the payment for a non-existent contract. The EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said the trio and others at large were part of a syndicate which engaged in fraudulent acts, obtaining by false pretences and impersonation. He said,
“The suspects’ arrest followed a petition from Austin Emuan, who is the Managing Director of Gothic-Len Consortium, alleging that one Miss Joy Ozioma (now at large), Nwabueze and others, sometime in 2011, defrauded him of N16. 9m under the pretext of awarding his company a contract for construction of a cottage hospital in Obagi community by Total Nigeria Limited.

FG Bans Foreign Trips for It Officials Using Government Funds

The Federal government has banned all public officials from embarking on international travels and foreign training using government funds. The ban was contained in a circular released on February 5th by the office of the head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Danladi Kifasi.

The circular, titled ‘Restrictions on Foreign Trainings and International Travels by Public Servants, stated that the move is part of the Federal governments measure to manage its funds in the face of the current slide in oil price in the international market.


"Government has embarked on a number of measures to help manage the situation. Tow brothers and others killed in Lagos during a political rally

Five people, including two brothers, have been shot dead in the Ajegunle area of Lagos.
They were shot after hoodlums hijacked a campaign rally organised by a Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which went through Oduduwa and Layinka streets and moved down to Cemetery Road in Amukoko.
Punch reports that the rally turned violent on Layinka Street when some politicians, who accompanied the unnamed Senatorial candidate, began to share gifts.
As the supporters and residents scrambled for the items, some thugs, who felt they were being sidelined, attacked the supporters.
Two other factions of the thugs also reportedly clashed, shooting at one another and vandalising property. Two young men of the same parents, identified simply as Abeeb and Idris, were among the five persons killed in the fracas.

Former Adamawa State Gov, Murtala Nyako Blast EFCC For Declaring Him Wanted

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, released a statement saying former Adawama state governor, Murtala Nyako is wanted for stealing, abuse of office and money laundering.. Mr. Nyako has reacted, blasting EFCC and saying declaring him wanted is the 'last kicks of a dying horse".
