FG Bans Foreign Trips for It Officials Using Government Funds
The Federal government has banned all public officials from embarking on international travels and foreign training using government funds. The ban was contained in a circular released on February 5th by the office of the head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Danladi Kifasi.
The circular, titled ‘Restrictions on Foreign Trainings and International Travels by Public Servants, stated that the move is part of the Federal governments measure to manage its funds in the face of the current slide in oil price in the international market.
"Government has embarked on a number of measures to help manage the situation. One of such measures is an embargo on foreign trainings and international travels by public servants in all ministries, departments and agencies, including all parastatals, beginning from January 2015.” the statement said The statement went

Tow brothers and others killed in Lagos during a political rally
Layinka Street
Five people, including two brothers, have been shot dead in the Ajegunle area of Lagos.
They were shot after hoodlums hijacked a campaign rally organised by a Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which went through Oduduwa and Layinka streets and moved down to Cemetery Road in Amukoko.
Punch reports that the rally turned violent on Layinka Street when some politicians, who accompanied the unnamed Senatorial candidate, began to share gifts.
As the supporters and residents scrambled for the items, some thugs, who felt they were being sidelined, attacked the supporters.
Two other factions of the thugs also reportedly clashed, shooting at one another and vandalising property. Two young men of the same parents, identified simply as Abeeb and Idris, were among the five persons killed in the fracas.

Former Adamawa State Gov, Murtala Nyako Blast EFCC For Declaring Him Wanted
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, released a statement saying former Adawama state governor, Murtala Nyako is wanted for stealing, abuse of office and money laundering.. Mr. Nyako has reacted, blasting EFCC and saying declaring him wanted is the 'last kicks of a dying horse".

Accident occurred along Benin-Ore express way - Photo
This accident happened this afternoon along the Benin Ore expressway involving a commercial bus and a trailer. The commercial bus driver was trying to overtake a trailer but wasn't fast enough and ended up crashing into the rare end of another trailer. Eye witnesses said the trailer driver didn't even stop to see what had happened, he sped off.
All passengers were rushed to the hospital, but the driver of the bus died instantly as he was pinned in the driver side. Sad.

Nigerian Man Arrested For Fake Marriage In UK
A Nigerian man and his bride were handcuffed by immigration police in the UK, just moments before their sham wedding ceremony. The suspicious registrar had alerted police after the couple couldn't spell each others names before the ceremony began. She also noticed the man reading details about his bride-to-be from the back of his hand. Lol.
The man is 33 year old Joseph Iwueke, and his bride-that-never was is 29 year old Slovakian Ingrida Stojkova. He was going to marry her so he could legally stay in Britain. They were busted by police and were charged with conspiracy.

Lagos Passengers Attacked By Armed Robbers
A vehicle fully loaded with Lagos passengers who left from Akure this morning, Where attacked by a gang of armed robbers. The robbers, who were about 15 in number, attacked immediately after the toll gate in Ore. They stole money, beat up passengers and manged to escape into the bush before police arrived.
The passengers that saw and heard them speak say they believe the robbers were Fulani cattle rearers.
