Boko Haram abduct 185 women and children in Borno state
CNN reports breaking news, 185 women and children were kidnapped by Boko Haram men during a raid on Gumsuri village 20km from Chibok in Borno state on Sunday December 14th. Men were shot, homes were burnt and women taken away. This is the largest rounding up of women and children since the abduction of Chibok girls in April 2014.
32 people including the Chief Imam of the village were killed. Leaders of the opposition vigilante were also killed. Word of the attack was slow to emerge due to the destruction of telecoms towers in the community. Nigerian military are yet to react to this latest attack. But how do these terrorists take 185 people away?

Tanzania Dad sentenced to life in prison for killing his kids
Tanzania man, Charles Mihayo, 36, who murdered his two daughters at his home in Melbourne on April 20th 2014 and then dressed them in floral dresses in an act of revenge against his ex-wife has been sentenced to life in prison.
According to prosecutors, after his wife divorced him, an angry Charles killed his own children just to make their mother suffer. He smothered Savannah, 4, and Indianna, 3, after playing with them.
Though he was sentenced to life in prison, Charles is eligible for parole after 31 years. Charles, who has since regretted his action, has refused to go into details as to how and why he killed the little girls, only saying he deserves to be punished.On the day of the murders, the girls mother dropped them off with him, he then took them shopping for new clothes and shoes. What happened next isn't clear but Charles called the police to his home.

Nine in EFCC custody for Illegal Dealing in Petroleum Products

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today at a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State arraigned nine persons for offences bordering on illegally dealing in petroleum products. Clement Oguntuwase, Joseph Obie, Ifeoluwa Albert, Adams Amzat Akokhia, Isaac Ndidi Chima, Rafiu Momodu, Rasaq Mahmud, Godwin George, and Thomas Daniel were arraigned before Justice Lambo Akanbi on a 2-count charge of conspiracy and illegal dealing in petroleum products.
The accused persons were intercepted aboard MB SKYE by men of the Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Pulo Shield on November 14, 2014 in Brass waters, close to Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC), Bayelsa State while transferring suspected crude oil from two vessels, MT CERGEN-D and MT ELIMINA, which were under investigation for alleged oil theft.

Another 54 soldiers sentenced to death by firing squad
According to the charge sheet, the soldiers conspired to commit mutiny against their superior at the 7 Division on August 4 at the Mulai Primary School camp, opposite AIT Maiduguri, Borno state.
54 soldiers including two Corporals, nine Lance Corporals and 49 Private soldiers attached to the 7 Division Nigerian Army in Maiduguri Borno state have been sentenced to death by firing squad for mutiny by a court marshal that sat in Abuja, Wednesday December 17th. The soldiers were convicted on a a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy to commit mutiny.
Captain J.E. Nwosu, an army Captain who is the prosecutor in the case, told the marshal panel that the accused soldiers had on August 4, in Maiduguri, refused to join the 111 Special Forces Battalion troops, commanded by Timothy Opurum, a Lieutenant Colonel for an operation which was meant to recapture Delwa, Bulabulin and Damboa in Borno State from members of Boko Haram.

Henry the fourth all time goal scorer in English league has retired
Former Arsenal and France striker Thierry Henry has announced his retirement from football after a trophy-laden 20-year career. The Frenchman, who also played for Monaco, Juventus, and Barcelona, scored 175 Premier League goals and is fourth on the list of all-time scorers.
Henry won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups with the Gunners, where he played between 1999 and 2007.
He added the Champions League trophy with Barcelona in 2009 and returned to Arsenal for four matches on loan from the Red Bulls in 2012, coming on as a substitute to score the winner against Leeds in the third round of the FA Cup.

BBC Report: 80 primary school children killed by Taliban in Pakistan
The Taliban, around 10 this morning launched a deadly attack on a military-run primary school in Northwestern city of Peshawar in Pakistan, killing 100 people, 80 of them children, according to the BBC. They are also reportedly holding over 100 children hostage. Over 500 students have so far been evacuated.
According to reports, the militants stormed the school's auditorium this morning where the students were learning first aid training from the military and started shooting.According to one of the teachers who survived the attack, as soon the militants started shooting, the students ran into their class rooms in panic but the militants pursued them & shot them at close range
One of the students, Abdullah Jamal who sustained a gunshot injury on his leg, said that he was with a group of 8th, 9th and 10th graders who were getting first-aid instructions and training with a team of Pakistani army medics when the shooting started.

Nigeria will never find Chibok girls - Chief Olusegun Obasanjo

“We Nigerians will never be able to get those girls together again. And the stories of those girls will go on for the next 30 years. Some of them will come out when they are adults or sent back when they are impregnated by their captors. Former director of Pittsburg College Charged With Defrauding Nigerian Students of $148,000
Federal prosecutors said Wednesday that 61-year-old Michael Muoghalu of Pittsuburg faces one count of wire fraud and one count of money laundering.
Muoghalu is accused of taking more than $148,000 in refunds due to the Nigerian students in Pittsburg State's Masters of Business Administration program. The 61-year-old was former director of Pittsburg State's College of Busines.
The Pittsburg Morning Sun reports that prosecutors allege that beginning in 2006 Muoghalu worked with an unknown accomplice in Nigeria to persuade 15 Nigerian students to give him part of the refunds they received on deposits for tuition and fees.

Man arrested for being in possession of over 104 bags of hard drugs
Men of the Cross Rivers state Police command has arrested Edet Okon {pictured above} for being in possession of hard drugs contained in well over 104 bags, and 100, 200 litre drums.
According to the state's Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Hogan Bassey, Mr Edet was arrested with the hard drugs at his home in Ikot-Nkese in the Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross River State following a tipoff on Wednesday December 10th.
"We acted based on information. The 104 bags and two drums (100 and 200 litre drums), were stocked in his house when we got there around 5am. He was arrested immediately and brought to the command headquarters.”

Ex-Militant Leader, Tompolo acquires Seven Warships
Acccording to a report from abusidiqu stating that the former militant leader from the Niger Delta, Mr. Government Ekpemupolo, alia Tompolo, has reportedly bought seven decommissioned Norwegian battleships, .
The decommissioned battleship according to reports by a Norwegian newspaper, Dagbladet, said that the fast-speed Hauk-class guided missile boats had been re-armed with new weaponry.
The report also revealed that Ekpemupolo’s most recent purchase is a KNM Horten, a fast-attack craft now used in fighting piracy in Nigeria’s waterways.
It was learnt that in spite of his alleged history of violence, Tompolo, now controls the Global West Vessel Service, a privately owned contractor for maritime security for the Nigerian Maritime Safety Agency.

Father arrested as Missing Nigerian baby found in Mexico,
The baby who went missing after his mother was found dead in a refrigerator at their home in Houston, Texas on Monday December 8th has been found in Mexico in good health.
11 months old Achilles Lambert was abducted by his Nigerian father, Patrick Lambert, who is a suspect in his estranged wife’s murder. Anastacia Lambert was stabbed to death. (read story here).
Houston police say the little boy was found abandoned yesterday Friday December 12th in Queretaro, central Mexico. Patrick was located somewhere else in Mexico and has since been taken into custody.

Nigerian tissue seller is being praised in Spain for returning €16,000
According to Euronews a Nigerian tissue seller is being praised in Spain as a good Samaritan after he returned 16 thousand Euros he found in a briefcase that fell from a car.
35 year old Peter Angelina, who makes a living selling tissue paper at a traffic light junction at the corner of Calle Juan Diaz de Solis and Ruben Dario in Seville, Spain, was selling his wares on Dec. 3rd when he noticed a small briefcase left on the roof of a car. The briefcase fell to the ground when the driver of the car pulled away. Peter picked up the briefcase and ran after the vehicle, trying to flag the driver down to return the case to him but couldn't get the attention of the driver. He then took the briefcase to a police station near the junction.
When police opened the briefcase, they found €3,150 in cash and six cheques with a combined value of €13,000 as well as some documents and a mobile telephone. More money than the man who left Lagos Nigeria for London, then Spain over 10 years had ever seen in his life.

Photos: 13yr old girl in police custody for wearing explosives device
The little girl above is just 13 year old and she was found wearing an explosives-packed vest was arrested in Kano state yesterday December 11th. The girl was arrested after she and a male accomplice walked into a clinic seeking medical treatment. Suspicious hospital staff alerted police who immediately arrested the two.
On searching her, Police discovered explosives hidden under her hijab. The police later revealed that the young girl was from Bauchi and was part of the 'suicide team' that attacked a market in Kano on Wednesday Dec. 10th.
