Nigerian schoolboy and footballer, Joel Adeshina who is just 15 year old was stabbed to death at Bethnal Green Road in East London on Friday night December 5th by a group of boys.

According to Scotland Yard police, Joel was on his way home with some of his friends when they were attacked by a gang who pursued them into an estate, managed to corner Joel and then stabbed him in the stomach.

"Police were called by London Ambulance Service to Bethnal Green Road, E2, at 23:04hrs on Friday, 5 December. Officers attended and found a 15-year-old boy suffering from serious stab injuries to the abdomen. The boy was taken by London Ambulance Service to an east London hospital. He died in hospital at 02:12hrs on Saturday, 6 December.’ a Scotland Yard spokesperson said.

A 16-year-old Nigerian girl named Kiahmarah Nwagwu  has been declared missing. According to London24, Kiamarah was last seen leaving her school, Hammersmith Academy on Wednesday December 3rd at about 1.30pm.

Kiahmarah is slim and between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 8ins tall. At the time of her disappearance, she had shoulder-length Afro-style hair, and was last seen wearing a dark knee-length wax coat, but might have taken a change of clothes. Anyone who has seen Kiahmarah or who knows of her whereabouts is asked to call Hammersmith & Fulham police on 101 or the charity Missing People on 116 000.

Mustapha Musa Osmanu, studying Information Communication Technology (ICT) at Sikkims Manipal University, Accra, has been arrested by the Ghanian police for stabbing two of his brothers at their home in Accra Newtown on Friday November 28th. One of them died instantly.

Confessing to the crime, Musa said he was under the influence of drugs when he stabbed his brothers. He said a night before the attack, he'd taken 20 doses of Diazpam 5gm tablets, to enable him study.


"I admit committing the act. I regret my action and I even wanted to commit suicide after the act but Jamiru took the knife from me. I was out of control after taking the drug. I regret having taken the drugs which enables me study for more than five hours a day…” he said

On the day of the attack, Osmanu had sneaked into their kitchen around 3.30pm, picked a knife and first stabbed Jamiru Osman, 23, in the chest before stabbing Nazifi Osman Mohammed, 27, in the chest and the stomach, leading to his death.

NMA suggests psychiatric tests for all politicians before 2015 election

The Nigerian Medical Association in a communique issued at the end of the National Executive Council meeting in Jos yesterday December 7th, advised that all politicians seeking for public offices in the 2015 general elections should undergo psychiatric test to determine the state of their mental health.

The communique was read by Dr Kayode Obembe, who said it had become necessary for politicians to undergo psychiatric test because of the way some politicians in the nation behave. He also said all psychiatric doctors had been advised to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission that will supervise such tests & all medical doctors to participate in the political process at all levels.

Another doctor from Sierra Leone dies of Ebola

A Sierra Leone doctor has died from Ebola, making him the 10th doctor in the country to have died from the dreaded virus.

Dr. Brima Kargbo, Sierra Leone’s chief medical officer, said Dr. Aiah Solomon Konoyeima died of Ebola on Saturday Dec. 6th. Details of how and where the doctor became infected are not known.

Of the 11 Sierra Leonean doctors infected with the disease, only one has survived.

Konoyeima who tested positive for Ebola 2 weeks ago, worked at a children's hospital in Freetown, Sierra Leone's capital. He was being treated at the Hastings Ebola Treatment Center, which is staffed exclusively by local Sierra Leonean medical personnel, before he passed away.

British-born American photojournalist held by Al-Qaeda militants in Yemen

British-born American photojournalist and a South African teacher held by Al-Qaeda militants in Yemen were killed today during a failed U.S.-led rescue attempt. The raid was ordered by President Barack Obama because he feared imminent danger to the reporter.

Al-Qaeda had initially posted a video online threatening to kill photographer Luke Somers (pictured above). American forces in conjunction with Yemeni ground troops then launched a second rescue attempt.

The South African, Pieree Korkie was supposed to be released tomorrow December 7. The aid group helping to negotiate his release even told his wife; "The wait is almost over."

Both Somers and Korkie "were murdered by the AQAP terrorists during the course of the operation,"

Mario Balotelli accused of Racism and Antisemitism and charged by English FA

English FA seem to think so. Liver Pool striker striker Mario Balotelli has been charged by the Football Association for posting an image of the Nintendo character, Super Mario on instagram and writing "jumps like a black man and grabs coins like a jew”
Just a few hours after Balotelli posted it on December 1, many people said they found it offensive and accused him of Racism and Antisemitism.
Balotelli deleted the image after it caused a lot of controversy, denied the accusations of racism and then issued an apology on Facebook to people who found the pic offensive.

According to Mailonline, hostage Lorenzo Vinciguerra bravely fled from his kidnappers during a clash between insurgents and governments troops in the southern Philippines.


The 49-year-old and Dutch photographer Ewold Horn had been captured in February 2012 by rebels of the Aby Sayyaf group while on a bird-watching trip in Tawi-Tawi province.Today, a Philippine officer revealed how, as gunfire broke out between the two sides in the remote jungle where he was kept, the photographer began wrestling with his guard to grab the machete.

Fake soldier convicted and sentenced to 7years imprisonment

Justice P.I. Ajoku of the Federal High Court, Benin, Edo State toady convicted and sentenced one Emmanuel Sunday (alias Umoh Sunday Iyang, Iyang Samuel Chukwudi) to seven and half years imprisonment without an option of fine for obtaining money under false pretense.
The convict was arraigned by the Economic and Financial crimes Commission, EFCC, on March 19, 2014 on an 8-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence. He pleaded not guilty to the count charge.

After diligent prosecution, Justice Ajoku found him guilty on the 5-count amended charge and sentenced him to thirty months imprisonment each of the counts. The court also ordered that the convict forfeit his two (2) phones to the Federal Government.
