Ghanaian socialite caught with 12.5kg of cocaine worth $5m

Ghanaian socialite, Nayele Ametefe also known as Ruby Adu-Gyamfi, who is said to be very highly placed in Ghana was arrested at Heathrow Airport, London on November 10th for drug trafficking.

Nayele was arrested shortly after arriving on a flight from Accra, Ghana, carrying 12 kilograms of cocaine worth £3.5million ($5 million) and £6, 063 cash. She was also reported to have been in possession of multiple passports including a Ghanaian passport and an Austrian passport.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned two suspected fraudsters, Gabriel Osereme Xavi (a.k.a. Collins Page) and Aikhaituamen Best Junior Cyril, before Justice E.F. Ikponmwen of the Edo State High Court sitting in Benin, on charges bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence.

CAN To Sultan of Sokoto: Write to Boko Haram as you wrote to ISIS

 CAN Pres. Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor has called on the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, to write a letter to members of Boko Haram to stop their attacks just as he did to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Pastor Oritsejafor made the call today at a 2-day meeting in Abuja with Senior Special Assistants on Religious Affairs to all state governors.

Nottingham hockey team stripped naked to fight against homophobia in sports

17 members of the University of Nottingham hockey team stripped naked to fight homophobia in sports. The team were filmed playing hockey naked, and then talking about discrimination against gays in sports in a video released last week.

The team did the video in collaboration with Voice Your Rights Project, a student group in their school whose mission is for all people "to live in a society in which every person is respected and treated as equals."

VYRP said they came up with the idea for the guys to strip naked because they knew that would get them more attention. I got screen grabs from the video More pic below..

Lecturer killed in Kogi State university

A lecturer in the Faculty of Agriculture, at  Kogi State university,  Prof Otitolaiye was killed on Friday Nov. 21st in the state. According to students who are asking police to investigate his murder, he was on his way to to eat at a place near Stadium Road in Ayingba, when some armed men double-crossed his vehicle at gun point, put him inside their vehicle and drove away.

His body was found the next day Saturday Nov. 22nd at Ejule village in Ofu LGA of Kogi state.

The mother and father were discovered by a cleaner who heard moaning coming from a private room on the maternity ward.

 Islamic Shebab extremists ambushed a bus in Kenya as it headed for Nairobi from Mandera, a town close to Somalia. 28 Christians were killed
According to reports, the heavily armed extremists separated the Muslims from the Christians by asking them to recite verses from the Qu'ran. Then they ordered the Muslims to get off the bus and then shot the Christians point blank in the head before escaping back to Somalia.

A Spokesman for Shebab later said the 28 travelers were killed in retaliation for a raid on mosques in Mombasa, Kenya last week.

President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday said the Federal Government is winning the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency and took a swipe at sections of the media over the crisis.

Vanguard reports that the President made the assertion in London while speaking at the opening of the meeting of Nigeria’s Honorary International Investment Council (HIIC).

Cultists Kills 35-year-tailor in Lagos

A 35-year-tailor, Lukman Sotomiwa, was on Tuesday, November, November 18, murdered by suspected members of a cult group in the Surulere Area

Lukman Sotomiwa was shot around 10pm outside his house after was tricked by his murderers to come out from his house with a telephone call. According to a Punch report, the Ogun State indigene was left in his pool of blood and died on the spot. His remains were later evacuated by the police.

Military helicopter crashes in Adamawa State

Military helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Airforce has reportedly crashed in Damare, near the Federal University of Technology in Yola, Adamawa State, around the same spot where the last helicopter crashed on November 14th.
