British Nigerian Pop artist Wrongfully Convicted for Robbery

Fast-rising British Nigerian Pop artist and musician SONA – real name Daniel Emifeoluwa – has wrongfully been accused and convicted of a robbery crime he did not commit. The heinous crime was committed on October 18, 2013 (last year) by former semi-professional footballer Rishi Nankani, and the robbery victim picked Nankani out from an identity parade (police lineup), to confirm this. Sona was not involved in the robbery and has only been dragged into this because he was spotted with Nankani later on at a shopping centre, hours after the robbery.

How Buyer Was killed By Trader In Lagos

Mr. Lawrence Ikonne, was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly killing a buyer, Isa Yaya, because the deceased haggled over the price of a commodity.

PUNCH Metro report that the incident occurred at Ikonne’s residence on Afro Close, Afromedia Estate, Okokomaiko, Lagos.

Synagogue Tragedy: South African Families To Receive Victims’ Bodies Soon - Fashola

After the collapse of a guest house belonging to the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in Ikotun area of Lagos state, the state governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola has approved the repatriation of 54 dead bodies of South Africans who were among the 116 that died in the incident.

On Wednesday President Goodluck Jonathan formally unveiled the new N100 commemorative notes at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The short ceremony which was initially scheduled for last Wednesday did not hold then because of the President’s journey to Burkina Faso.
Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Governor, Godwin Emefiele, joined the President to unveil the note during the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting.
Shortly after presenting the note, Emefiele said it was issued to commemorate the 100 years of the nation’s amalgamation.

4 children aged 4 and 7 found dead inside freezer in South Africa

A report from citypress, Four children have been found dead inside a freezer in Ermelo, Mpumalanga which is located in South Africa
The three boys and a girl, aged between four and seven, were last seen playing outside a house yesterday afternoon, Mpumalanga Police Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said today.
“They were last seen at 1.30pm, and their bodies were discovered around 5.30pm,” he said.
“The allegation is that they went into a room attached to the house outside and they found a deep freezer there. It is believed they went or jumped inside and it closed.

11yr old girl raped by Pastor in Lagos

  According to Vanguard, One 32-year-old pastor has been remanded in prison for allegedly raping and impregnating an 11-year-old girl (names withheld) in Lagos State.
The pastor (names withheld) whose church is located at Odunbaku Street in Iju Ishaga, a Lagos suburb, was arraigned at a Senior Magistrates’ Court, Abule Egba, Lagos State.
According to reports, the pastor allegedly told the victim’s mother that there is an arrow of death in her house and must move out to avoid death.

34-year old Man was kidnapped in Lagos

     Mr. Shola Balogun,  who is 34-year of age, has narrated how he was allegedly kidnapped, but narrowly escaped in the Abule Egba area of Lagos.
 Balogun, who digs boreholes for a living, told Punch that he was allegedly kidnapped last week Friday,  November 7, by a customer he had never met before, identified simply as Babatunde.
Balogun further claimed that Babatunde lured him into an apartment on Jola Osho Street in Abule Egba, where it dawned on him that he had been kidnapped.
     Our correspondent learnt that Balogun, after his escape, reported the incident at the Meiran Police Division.

Obasanjo, IBB Reacts To Jonathan Declaration

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday, shunned President Goodluck Jonathan’s declaration to contest in the forthcoming 2015 presidential election.
President Jonathan had on Tuesday, November 11, officially declared his intent to run for the 2015 presidential elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Eagle Square in Abuja.
Obasanjo and former military dictator, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida were absent at the event, though both are members of the PDP.
Babaginda was one the presidential aspirants contesting alongside Jonathan in 2011 on the platform of the PDP but he lost to Jonathan.

Guinea Villagers Go On Hunger Strike

A hunger strike has begun in Guinea as part of protests against the presence of the country’s military in Wome Village.

20 leaders from the village have set up camp in front of the country’s parliament since the beginning of the strike.

The military occupied the village after eight volunteers who were raising awareness about Ebola were killed by members of the community in September.

Nigerian state and federal governments, private companies and even individuals are known for patronising CNN for adverts even though the cost is said to be up to N5m for a 30-second spot at prime time.
“We approached CNN agents in Nigeria to place some adverts for our principal. We sent the creatives to them as requested and they returned them, saying they do not run commercials that are intended to campaign for votes. We could not believe it,” a consultant to a presidential aspirant told TheCable.
