2015 General Election will be bloody - DSS


According to Department of State Security (DSS) in Benue State has said that the forthcoming elections in the state would be bloody unless the illegal arms in circulation are withdrawn.

According to the DSS, the quantity of firearms in circulation in the state which has had a number of farmer-herder clashes recently, is scary and is dangerous to the 2015 elections.

How 2Face's Mum Escaped Death During Husbands Burial




 Mrs. Rose Idibia, who is the mother of popular singer, Innocent Idibia better known as 2face escaped death with a dint of luck last week Thursday night. Mrs. Rose was said to have been attacked by her late husband’s kinsmen at the Amafu community in Okpokwu LGA of Benue State.

Reports made it known that the kinsmen were angry with the new widow because she allegedly stopped her son, 2face from building them the family house he promised. Kemi Filani reports that the problem started immediately the woman’s husband (Mr Idibia) died and the four children of the deceased were summoned up for a meeting. The meeting was said to have been about what the children are expected to do now that their father has died.

It is known that extremist organisations use a lot of ways to earn money. These methods are: drug trafficking, robberies, extortion and donations via NGOs.

Terrorist groups get a lot of money from NGOs, charities, financial institutions and even government organization.

On Wednesday President Goodluck Jonathan formally unveiled the new N100 commemorative notes at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The short ceremony which was initially scheduled for last Wednesday did not hold then because of the President’s journey to Burkina Faso.
Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Governor, Godwin Emefiele, joined the President to unveil the note during the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting.
Shortly after presenting the note, Emefiele said it was issued to commemorate the 100 years of the nation’s amalgamation.

4 children aged 4 and 7 found dead inside freezer in South Africa


A report from citypress, Four children have been found dead inside a freezer in Ermelo, Mpumalanga which is located in South Africa
The three boys and a girl, aged between four and seven, were last seen playing outside a house yesterday afternoon, Mpumalanga Police Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said today.
“They were last seen at 1.30pm, and their bodies were discovered around 5.30pm,” he said.
“The allegation is that they went into a room attached to the house outside and they found a deep freezer there. It is believed they went or jumped inside and it closed.

11yr old girl raped by Pastor in Lagos



  According to Vanguard, One 32-year-old pastor has been remanded in prison for allegedly raping and impregnating an 11-year-old girl (names withheld) in Lagos State.
The pastor (names withheld) whose church is located at Odunbaku Street in Iju Ishaga, a Lagos suburb, was arraigned at a Senior Magistrates’ Court, Abule Egba, Lagos State.
According to reports, the pastor allegedly told the victim’s mother that there is an arrow of death in her house and must move out to avoid death.

34-year old Man was kidnapped in Lagos

     Mr. Shola Balogun,  who is 34-year of age, has narrated how he was allegedly kidnapped, but narrowly escaped in the Abule Egba area of Lagos.
 Balogun, who digs boreholes for a living, told Punch that he was allegedly kidnapped last week Friday,  November 7, by a customer he had never met before, identified simply as Babatunde.
Balogun further claimed that Babatunde lured him into an apartment on Jola Osho Street in Abule Egba, where it dawned on him that he had been kidnapped.
     Our correspondent learnt that Balogun, after his escape, reported the incident at the Meiran Police Division.

Gov Babatunde Fashola addressed the youths at a summit organised by the Youth Wing of the (APC) in Lagos yesterday Nov. 11. he said that after years of Pres. Jonathan leading Abuja, first as an acting president and later his four-year presidential tenure, the Federal Capital still has challenges of irregular power supply, water shortage, poor accommodation, poor transportation, poor traffic management&security.

"If Mr. President had managed the FCT well, there should be regular power supply at the centre of attraction in the country. I was in Abuja recently and I got hooked-up in traffic. So many things are not working in Abuja, the seat of our federal government. In Lagos, we have strived to add value to peoples’ lives and living.

Obasanjo, IBB Reacts To Jonathan Declaration


Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday, shunned President Goodluck Jonathan’s declaration to contest in the forthcoming 2015 presidential election.
President Jonathan had on Tuesday, November 11, officially declared his intent to run for the 2015 presidential elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Eagle Square in Abuja.
Obasanjo and former military dictator, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida were absent at the event, though both are members of the PDP.
Babaginda was one the presidential aspirants contesting alongside Jonathan in 2011 on the platform of the PDP but he lost to Jonathan.

A 500- level computer science student of Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna and two others have been arrested by the Niger State Police Command for alleged cultism.The trio, according to the police, belong to Neo-Black Movement (NBM) a.k.a Black Axe

The state Police Commissioner, Mr. Olusola Amore, said two locally made pistols, three live ammunition 9mm caliber, three axes and three pairs of fraternity uniforms were recovered at the spot of their arrest.

The 500-level student, who claimed to be the leader of the gang, said he was initiated into the gang four years ago to fight injustice and oppression in FUT, Minna and also get connected.He said..

Guinea Villagers Go On Hunger Strike




A hunger strike has begun in Guinea as part of protests against the presence of the country’s military in Wome Village.

20 leaders from the village have set up camp in front of the country’s parliament since the beginning of the strike.

The military occupied the village after eight volunteers who were raising awareness about Ebola were killed by members of the community in September.

CNN Rejects Nigeria Political Adverts


According toThecable.ng  that popular American News Network, CNN has been turning down political adverts from Nigeria.
Nigerian state and federal governments, private companies and even individuals are known for patronising CNN for adverts even though the cost is said to be up to N5m for a 30-second spot at prime time.
“We approached CNN agents in Nigeria to place some adverts for our principal. We sent the creatives to them as requested and they returned them, saying they do not run commercials that are intended to campaign for votes. We could not believe it,” a consultant to a presidential aspirant told TheCable.

President Goodluck Jonathan declares!!

Nigerian military helicopter has crashed in Adamawa state


A Nigerian military helicopter has crashed in Damariea in Girei Local Government Area of the state.
