Six suspected kidnappers engaged Anambra State Police Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in a gun battle at Okpoko in Ogbaru local government area yesterday November 9th, and three members of the gang were killed, while Mrs. Edith Maduekwe, who had been kidnapped by the gang was rescued.

Mrs. Maduekwe, who was kidnapped by the suspects on October 4th, at Oba in Idemili South LGA, was rescued at an erosion site in Oraukwu in Idemili North local government area of the state.

Unknown Gunmen attack School of Nursing & Midwifery in Uyo

Latest reports inform that the unexpected happened at the weekend inside the School of Nursing and Midwifery in Anua, Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State when armed bandits stormed the school’s female hotels and carried out their nefarious activities for hours without challenge.

According to a report published by Abusidiqu.com, students of the institution informed that the unknown gunmen combed the entire female hostels carting away several valuables, including smart phones, laptops, and money meant for the students’ upkeep and purchase of school materials.

It was also gathered that the armed bandits also tried to rape some female students inside their hostels but stopped short of going into detail.

Bishop David Oyedpo Church Called witchcraft' church in UK

 Winners' Chapel International, which is currently under investigation by the Charity Commission, wants to open the school at its Dartford site.

Human rights campaigners and the National Secular Society are urging the government to turn down the school bid.

The church, whose leader Bishop David Oyedpo was filmed accusing a woman of being a witch, declined an interview.

2 feared dead, 20 injured at Akwa Ibom new stadium

According to a report, Two people are feared dead while 20 others suffered various where injured during a stampede at the inauguration ceremony of a new stadium in Akwa Ibom state, the News Agency of Nigeria is reporting.

It is not clear yet what caused the stampede but an international friendly between the home-based senior national team of Nigeria, Super Eagles B, and the U-23 National Team of Ghana, the Black Meteors, was fixed to mark the ceremony.

50-year-old Man Kills Neighbor Over Wife,

A 50-year-old man, whose name was Sunday Orochendo,was arrested for allegedly killing his neighbour,    Rafel Ngbobile, 60, during a fight.

Sources disclosed that the wife of the suspect, who is currently on the run, had contacted her husband, who was not at home at the time of the quarrel, on phone and reported the matter to him.
