13 years after 9/11 attacks, New World Trade Centre opens
Thirteen years after the 9/11 terrorist attack, the resurrected World Trade Center has opened for business - marking an emotional milestone for both New Yorkers and the nation.
Some staffers of publishing giant Conde Nast began working at 1 World Trade Center on Monday. The 104-story, $3.9 billion skyscraper dominates the Manhattan skyline. The publishing giant becomes the first commercial tenant in America's tallest building.

Pres. GEJ To Unveil Commemorative 100 Naira Note On Wednesday
On Wednesday, November 5, President Goodluck Jonathan will unveil the specially designed commemorative 100 Naira banknote by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)
A statement on Monday by the CBN’s Director, Corporate Communications Department, Ibarahim Mu’azu, said the commemorative note was part of the apex bank’s contribution to the centenary celebration, which is in line with its mandate of issuing legal tender currency in Nigeria.

Good news: Cement now sold for N1000 now not N1700
When i saw this i call it a good development now every body can build no excuse. Dangote Cement Plc has announced a 41% reduction in the prices of cement, with the different grades now selling for between N1,000 and N1,150, exclusive of Value Added Tax. Now, 50kg of the 32.5 cement grade sells for N1,000, while the higher 42.5 grade will go for N1,150 per bag instead of the current N1,700 that both grades were sold for.

MTN Surprise: Dr SID Turns BRT Bus Conductor - Photo
The amazement and excitement in the on-going MTN SURPRISE campaign continued today, as one of MTN’s ambassadors and the Mavin Records’ Doctor, Dr. SID was the centre of attraction, boardinga one of the free BRT buses that was coming from Ikorodu. The free buses were provided by MTN.
The Surulere crooner who boarded the bus at Idiroko bus/stop, announced himself as the official bus conductor. The commuters were stunned. They could not just stop imagining themselves being in the
same BRT bus with Dr. SID. It was an unthinkable surprise.The excitement was such that many of the passengers refused to alight at their bus-stops, in order to continue the fun with Dr. SID while enjoying the surprise packages he was giving out.

CAF: Afcon 2015 Most Hold Due To Calendar
Morocco, AFCON host have called for the tournament to be pushed back because of fears that an influx of several hundred thousand supporters could spread the virus which has killed more than 4 950 people in West Africa.
But Confederation of African Football media director Junior Binyam said after meeting with Moroccan officials that there would be no postponement.

Photos: 52yr old woman arrested operating baby factory in Imo
Officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, NSCDC, Imo state command have arrested a 52 year old woman, Mrs Esther Akunmadu (pictured above), for allegedly operating a baby factory in the Umutueke community in Imo state.
Parading her before newsmen, the state NSCDC deputy commandant, Ade Micheal, said the woman was arrested following a tip off from members of the community, a claim the accused woman denied..

Military Commanders Detained for Abandoning Mubi To Boko Haram in Adamawa
Five military commanders have been detained at the military police guard for abandoning Mubi in Adamawa state. The commander whose names and ranks were given as Colonel Ibrahim, Lt. Colonel Magaji and three others abandoned the 213 Brigade headquarters a few minutes after Boko Haram militants reached Mararaba and Hildi on the outskirts of Mubi.Defense officials in Abuja had told Saharareporters that investigations were still ongoing.

FG to return Sanusi's Seized Salaries and Passports
A report from The NATION, The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is to have his seized travel passport and withheld salaries returned.
Besides, the Kano Central Prison is to be relocated for better security at the Emir’s palace. It is all as part of last Thursday’s reconciliation with President Goodluck Jonathan.
The Presidency is believed to have decided to have what is known as “total reconciliation with the Emir”.
Although the Presidency is aware of the closeness of the Emir to the leaders of the APC Political Party, the olive branch is meant to ensure his “neutrality” during next year’s elections.

A barman, who works in a hotel located on Obokun Avenue, in the Ojodu area of Lagos, is battling with wounds he sustained during an ‘unprovoked’ attack by a customer.
It was gathered that Friday and his girlfriend, whose name had yet to be ascertained, had gone to
drink in the hotel around 6pm on October 21, when the incident happened. The victim, Simeon Tenebe, claimed he was brooding on an issue he had discussed with his sister earlier in the day when the 25-year-old man confronted him. He added that Friday interpreted his stare for rebuke and challenged him to a scuffle.

Mother of two British teenagers captured by ISIS trying to rescue them
The mother of two British teenagers who ran to Syria to marry ISIS fighters after becoming radicalised online was taken by the group as she tried to rescue them.. Zahra and Salma Halane, both 16, of Chorlton, Manchester, disappeared overnight from their home in June.
Dailymail reports that, their father Ibrahim, 52, and mother Khadra Jama, 45, who are originally from Somalia, travelled to the region to try to bring them home but Khadra was detained by fighters.

Tafawa Balewa’s son to drag PDP to court over presidential form he was denied of
AHEAD of December 6 National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP where President Goodluck Jonathan, the sole presidential candidate of the party for the 2015 Presidential election would br ratified, son of Nigeria’s late prime minister, Alhaji Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Dr Abdul Jelil who was denied the Presidential forms has vowed to drag the leadership of the party to court to seek redress.
Addressing Journalists yesterday in Abuja, Abdul Jelil Balewa who boasted that the party cannot expel him because of insistence that he would contest the party’s presidential primary election inspite of PDP’s endorsement of President Jonathan as the sole candidate, however stressed that he has been a PDP member since 1998, adding that things cannot be done with impunity.

Ebola Scare: pregnant woman vomiting blood in Jibowu
The prompt intervention of Chisco transport officials has saved a pregnant woman, who after alighting from one of the company’s buses at its terminal, Jibowu, Lagos, started vomiting blood through her mouth and nose.
According to DailySun, the bus, with registration number KJA 950 XR, was said to have arrived from Abuja at about 10am on the fateful day when the incident occurred. Scared by the development, other passengers were said to have taken to their heels as one of the passengers screamed that the pregnant woman was displaying Ebola symptoms.

Rukewe, 30, a final year student of Computer and Statistics at the University of Benin, was arrested by officials of a new generation bank on May 28, 2014 in Benin City and handed over to the EFCC for further investigation.The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, October 30, 2014 arraigned an undergraduate of the University of Benin, Kenneth Rukewe Ebule before Justice E. F Ikponmwen of an Edo State High Court, sitting in Benin- City on a 6- count charge bordering on forgery, obtaining money by false pretence and possession of fraudulent documents.The accused person allegedly duped Sabine Albert, a German, of the sum of $12, 088, 75 through fraudulent claims.

Photos: Explosion rocks Gombe Line motor park
There was an Explosion at the Gombe Line motor park in Gombe state around 9am this morning which has resulted in the death of at least 30 people. Eye witnesses say the bomb was planted by a man who came and dropped his bag in a Kano line bus and left. NEMA officials are said to be at the scene right now removing the dead bodies and taking the injured to the Gombe State Specialist Hospital. Death penalty for Kano child bride
AFP's Aminu Abubakar writes that prosecutors at the High Court in Gezawa, have filed an amended complaint that charged the young girl with one count of murder over the killing. Lead prosecutor Lamido Abba Soron-Dinki said that if convicted, the charge is "punishable with death" and indicated the state would seek the maximum penalty.

British-Nigerian lady, Joy Williams who is 24yr old has died after a failed £2,000 butt enlargement surgery in Bangkok, Thailand. The young lady's older brother, Anietie, who lives in Nigeria, said the family didn't even know she'd traveled to Thailand.
"We don't really know what went wrong, we only know what is in reports in the media." Anietie said
He also said that the family is making preparations to bring her body home. According to the Daily Mail, Joy, who relocated to the UK from Nigeria in 2007 and lives with her mother in Thamesmead, died on October 23rd after visiting a clinic called SP Clinic in Thailand which she had found on the internet.More below..

The public is hereby notified that Salisu Taiwo aka Olusola Enitan, whose photograph appears above is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a case of Conspiracy, Obtaining Property and Money by False Pretences and Issuance of Dud Cheques. Taiwo under the pretext of renting a property, situated at Magodo GRA, Lagos, and purchasing items for its furnishing, issued cheques totaling N11, 398, 500.
But before the cheques could clear, he evacuated all the furniture and electrical appliances purchased by the property owner at his instance and sold them at give away prices at Alaba Market Lagos.
