The bullet thatkilled my son's life also killed a part of me - Orlando Pirates goalkeeper's father

Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa’s father says the bullet that took his son’s life also killed a part of him.
A visibly upset Sam Meyiwa today told reporters outside his house in Umlazi in Durban that he wanted the men who had killed his son arrested as soon as possible.
“They [the police] must make sure they get these people who killed my son. I want them in jail. I want them in custody. I want to talk to them and ask them why they killed my son. It’s like they killed myself.”
Standing upright and biting his lips, Meyiwa said his son had been expected to return home this past weekend, but had changed his plans.

28- year-old man sentenced to 6 days of community service for stealing a large pot of soup.

A Somolu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State on Monday sentenced a 28- year-old man, Abiodun Ojedokun, to six days of community service for stealing a large pot of soup.
The Magistrate, Bola Osunsanmi, sentenced the convict to 48 hours of community service for each of the three-count charge, after he had pleaded guilty to them.
“Based on the facts of this case before this court, the confirmed report and your plea of leniency, I hereby sentence you to 48 hours community service on each of the counts of the charge,” Osunsanmi said.
The convict, arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy, burglary and stealing, pleaded guilty to all the charges preferred against him.

Photo: Ejiroghene Gbenidio who is UNIBEN student killed on campus by unknown gunmen

A 300 level student of the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Physical Sciences at the University of Benin in Edo state, Ejiroghene Gbenidio (pictured above) was shot dead by unknown gunmen inside the Ugbowo campus of the school on Friday October 24th.
According to reports, Ejiro was attending the jeans carnival of the final year students of his faculty when he was accosted and shot in the head. He died instantly.

Orlando Pirates goalkeeper shot dead in his girlfriend's house

Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates number one goalkeeper and captain Senzo Meyiwa was shot dead yesterday October 26th at his girlfriend's house just a few hours after the photo above was taken.
According to reports, Meyiwa, 27, who played a match for Orlando Pirates on Saturday night, was at his girlfriend's house, SA pop star Kelly Khumalo (pictured right), when three men entered the home in Vosloorus, Johannesburg to rob them. Meyiwa ended up getting shot in the chest. He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead. No one else in the house was hurt.

25 year old Moses Onianwa who works with Oshimili North LGA, was allegedly shot by policemen attached to Ibusa Police Station in Delta State this past Saturday.
According to his friends who reached out to LIB, Moses was in company of three other friends and were monitoring the last Saturday Local Government Area elections when police allegedly pursued and shot at them somewhere around Asaba.

Photos: Three buildings demolished in Anambra state

Anambra state government have demolished 3 buildings located at Aguleri and Umuleri, Anambra East LGA, which they say were used to keep kidnap victims.
The buildings include a four room bungalow at Ararite Aguleri owned by a man from Umuobanam but used by his caretaker, one Jude Onu from Imo State and his gang. Other kidnap gangs were said to have used the building as hideout while negotiating for ransom.
Another building which belonged to late businessman Ozoemena Egwuatu but was used by his nephew, one Ejima Nwandu for kidnap activities, was demolished at Umuatulu, Umurueri.
The government said they've embarked on the demolition and arrest of kidnappers in a bid to ensure a crime-free yuletide season in the state.More pic below..

2 Year Old Girl in Mali who Contracted EVD Passes Away
2 Year Old Girl Contracts EVD in Mali
Daily Mail reports.
Sources say the girl had been showing signs of recovery, but unfortunately, she relapsed, and died afterwards.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has revealed that the deceased was exposed to an unidentified number of people while traveling with her grandmother hundreds of kilometers by bus from Guinea via Mali’s capital to the western town of Kayes.
A health ministry official stated that the child’s mother died in Guinea a few weeks ago.

November 5 T.B. Joshua To Appear Before A Coroner

The Lagos State Coroner, Mr Oyetade Komolafe, announced Joshua’s appearance on Friday at the resumption of the inquest at an Ikeja High Court.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the inquest was instituted under the Lagos State Coroner’s System Law No. 7 of 2007 for the purpose of unraveling the cause of the incident.
Prophet Joshua's appearance was announced by the Lagos state coroner, Oyetade Komolafe, on Friday at the resumption of the inquest at an Ikeja High Court.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the inquest was instituted under the Lagos State Coroner’s System Law No. 7 of 2007 for the purpose of unraveling the cause of the incident.
NAN recalls that no fewer than 115 persons were reportedly killed, with the majority being South Africans after the six-storey building collapsed on Sept. 12.

Photo: College of Education Lecturer Burnt To Death

Taraba College of Education lecturer, Alhaji Kassimu Umar, has been lynched and burnt to death by an angry mob after he allegedly killed five primary school pupils with his car.
Student Pulse gathered that Umar knocked down the children, aged between 8 and 11, while trying to dodge a trailer in the early hours of Friday, Punch reports.
Confirming the incident, the Taraba Police Command Police Public Relations officer (PPRO), Mr Joseph Kwaji told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that Umar had reported himself to policemen at the Pupule Police Outpost after the accident.
“In the early hours of today, one Kassimu Umar, who is believed to be a lecturer with COE, Zing, had knocked down five primary school pupils who all died on the spot.

Number of Ebola cases passes 10 000 - WHO

The World Health Organisation says the number of people believed to be suffering from Ebola has risen above 10 000.
The UN health agency said today that the number of confirmed, probable and suspected cases has risen to 10 141. Of those, 4 922 people have died.
WHO has repeatedly said that even those very high figures are likely to be underestimated as many people in the hardest hit countries have been unable or too frightened to seek medical care.

Amaechi: I refused to share Rivers money with Patience Jonathan

Rotimi Amaechi, who is the Governor of Rivers state says the major reason he and the first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan fell out was because he refused to share the state money with her. Gov Amaechi said this yesterday October 24th at the graduation ceremony of the Pioneer graduands of the Ignatus Ajuru University of Education held at Rumuolumeni in Rivers state. He said
"Remember, when I became governor, I fought militancy. Right there where you built a new house used to be a hole where they pass into the river nd escape. The security report reached me and I came here and chased the militants away. I asked them to fence the school premises and block the hole. I have to protect you because it is my responsibility. Some of the militants went to Lagos, Ivory Coast, Ghana etc. Today, they are back because the wife of the President bought them back to protest against me."

Paul Adelakun who is A 26-year old has been arrested by the police at Ikotun division for attacking his neighbor Victor Torlowei whom he forced to eat feaces inside a toilet in Lagos, PM Newspaperreports.
He was charged before Magistrate’s court Ejigbo with conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and assault under the Criminal code.
The incident happened at their resident at 7 Ilupeju street, Pako Bus Stop, Ikotun where both of them resides.
According Torlowei, he had disagreement with Adelakun’s elder brother and later went to the toilet to relieve himself.

Aliko Dangote, Arunma Oreh and More Nominated for Forbes Africa 2014 Person of the Year Award
Forbes Africa has revealed the nominees for their 2014 Person of the Year award and notably, three Nigerians are on the list – Aliko Dangote, author Chimamanda Adichie and Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Arunma Oteh.
Also on the list are Thuli Madonsela, a South African advocate and the nation’s public protector who helped draft the country’s constitution in 1994 and was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People this year as well as Donald Kaberuka, the Rwandan economist who has ushered in significant change for the continent during his 10 years tenure as the president of the African Development Bank.

Photo: 2 Year Old Girl Contracts EVD in Mali

Mali’s health ministry on Friday in Bamako confirmed a case of Ebola virus in a two-year old girl, NAN reports.
The ministry said this was coming weeks after Mali has so far been cleared of the disease.
It said the girl, who had arrived from neighbouring Guinea, was taken to a hospital in the western city of Kayes with possible symptoms on Wednesday, and was confirmed to have Ebola the following day.

Ivory Coast seek for Ebola suspect

Ivory Coast, has launched a hunt for a Guinean health worker who may have fled his home country after possibly catching the disease.
Ivory Coast are currently free of the Ebola epidemic ravaging its neighbours,
The man apparently took fright after finding out that someone who came to his clinic for treatment had died, possibly of Ebola, a senior official at Ivory Coast’s National Public Health Institute said.
“For the moment [this person] is not contagious,” Daouda Coulibaly said, adding that the health authorities were not alarmed and “there is no panic”.

Synagogue collapsed: South African's family appeals to Public Protector

The Eastern Cape family has lodged a complaint with the Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela, calling on her office to help get answers from the government.
The family alleged that the government has failed to render the necessary support and to update them with information regarding the repatriation of their loved one,” the Public Protector’s spokesperson, Oupa Segalwe, confirmed yesterday.
“We have opened a file, not for investigation, but to intervene by way of facilitating dialogue between the family and the government.”
Discussions with the presidency had already begun, and the Public Protector’s office hoped to report back to the family by next Friday.

Abducted Woman Released in Adamawa

A reports disclosed by villagers, who spoke on the issue with newsmen on the telephone from their hide-outs. They however, said that the exact number of those released could not be ascertained, but that no fewer than 45 girls were still being detained.
Vanguard reports that according to the villagers, the women and girls were abducted from Waga
Mangoro which was between Gwoza in Borno and Madagali in Adamawa states. Relatives of some of the abducted women who were later released by the insurgents also, told newsmen in Yola that some of the girls have been turned to cooks while others were married off immediately to some of the insurgents.

Photo: Baby born with holy Qur’an in Ibadan
Nigerian Tribune is reporting that a baby was born recently in Oyo state clutching a pocket-size Qur’an (pictured above).
The baby, who has since been named Ismail, was born in a church at the Oniyanrin area of Ibadan in September, the reports states. A renowned Islamic preacher who the newspaper spoke with said the woman who delivered the baby threw away the object she found in the baby's hand thinking it was something devilish, only for them to later find out it was a pocket-size Qur’an which contained all the 114 chapters in the holy book. It was wrapped in a thread. The preacher said although the Qur’an was small, the lettering inside was readable.

NY Doctor Contracts EVD

The 33-year-old doctor named Craig Spencer, works with Doctors Without Borders, and had just returned to New York city after treating Ebola patients in Guinea on October 17th, CNN reports.
Sources say the symptoms of the disease only began to manifest on Thursday, when Spencer started to experience nausea, pain, fever, and fatigue.
