EFCC Arrests Four Bankers for ATM Fraud - Photo

"Four bankers: Mansur Danlami, Ejiro Eborikpo, Nina Stephen and Samson Nwodo have been arrested by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for conspiracy to steal the sum of N5, 100, 000 (Five Million One Hundred Thousand Naira Only) from a customer’s account....

The suspects, all staff of Zoo Road Branch of First Bank Plc allegedly conspired among themselves to issue ATM card to an impostor, in the name of Samuel Omede, a bona fide customer of the Bank in Bayelsa State.

After the issuance of the purported ATM card, the impostor used the card to steal N5, 100, 000 (Five Million, One Hundred Thousand Naira Only) from Samuel Omede’s account.

The suspects are still being interrogated in the Kano Zonal office of the EFCC and will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded

INEC Extends Distribution of Voter Cards in FCT and 11 states

Abuja (NAN) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has extended the ongoing distribution of permanent voter cards in the FCT and 11 states by two days.

UK Universities in caution on Nigerian student over Ebola..


The umbrella body that represents vice-chancellors in the UK, Universities UK has put universities on alert to be ready for potential outbreak of the Ebola virus from West African students when the new term starts in September.

The Independent UK reports the body has has written to every university giving detailed guidance on how to deal with an outbreak. The decision was made to send out the guidance because universities are expecting thousands of new students to arrive from West Africa.

The Minster of Health Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu confirmed this saying the patient ,a female doctor now tested negetive .He however did not reveal her name.He also said five of those undergoing treatment have almost recovered.

Ebola: Catholic Diocese of Makurdi Bars Corpses in Churches

Makurdi (NAN) – The Catholic diocese of Makurdi, Benue, has barred the faithful from taking corpses of late relations to churches for funeral Mass as a measure to check the spread of Ebola virus.

The diocese directed that corpses of deceased members should be given immediate burial.

It, however, said that it would allow corpses to be brought to the churches in the area only when death certificates issued by relevant medical authorities were produced.

The Imo state police command have successfully rescued and returned two babies abducted from their mothers a few hours after they were born.

While presenting the rescued babies to their mothers at the Imo state Police command headquarters, the head of the anti-human trafficking unit of the Imo police command, Mrs Elizabeth Okosun, said the police was able to rescue one of the babies after a tip-off by a commercial tricycle rider who suspected the shady behavior of the suspects when they boarded his tricycle about to travel with the baby to another state.
