Ebola:US Gov have agreed to send out Ebola treatment to Liberia Why not Nigeria?


The experimental Ebola drug which has been used to treat two infected patients in the US will be made available to Liberia.The untested drug ZMapp,will be used to treat Infected doctors .
The Liberian government confirmed this via a statement , published on the Liberian presidency's website on Monday saying the drugs will be delivered by a WHO expert this week after the Liberian president made a direct appeal to US President Barack Obama on Friday.

Xiao Yunzhi, 57, was out for a walk in his hometown of Guangyuan, Sichaun Province, before a five-inch kitchen knife fell from the top of a high-rise apartment block.

Residents at Ondo are urged to listen to media about Ebola

Dr Aderonke Fagbemi, a consultant optician with the Ondo State Specialist Hospital, Akure, has urged residents of the state to be attentive to the media to have good knowledge of the Ebola virus ravaging some West African countries.
Fagbemi told the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) in Akure on Monday that only the media could give them satisfactory knowledge of the virus.

Man kills wife Over Hiv


Philip Katongu (pictured above) from Wamba, Nasarawa State has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death, Punch reports.

According to reports, Katongu stabbed his wife to death in a street at Oniru Estate, Maroko, Lagos, where they lived. Police say she was stabbed at least three times. After he was arrested by operatives of the Department of Criminal Investigations, Yaba, Lagos, Katongu, 45, claimed he killed her because she infected him with HIV and then wanted to leave him for another man. Ebola is National Emergency says GEJ and Approves N1.98 Billion for Special Intervention Fund


Abuja (NAN) ― President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday in Abuja declared a national emergency on the outbreak of Ebola virus in the country.

Consequently, the President approved the immediate release of N1.9 billion for the control and containment of the disease.

In a statement, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, said Jonathan also approved a Special Intervention Plan to further strengthen ongoing steps to contain the virus.

The statement explained that this was one of the major decisions taken by the President at a closed door emergency meeting with relevant government officials at the Presidential Villa.
